Adeojo Backs Adedeji as PDP Consensus Candidate, Calls for Unity Ahead of Polls

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Sheriff Adeojo, has congratulated Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consensus candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Adeojo, who was also an aspirant for the ticket, extended his goodwill shortly after the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, announced Adedeji’s adoption as the party’s flagbearer.

The decision followed a consensus reached during an early morning meeting with PDP stakeholders from the Oyo South Senatorial District, held at the party’s state secretariat in Ibadan.

Reacting to the development, Adeojo described Adedeji’s emergence as a major boost for party unity, noting that the contest for the ticket had effectively come to an end. He urged party members to move beyond internal competition and focus on strategies that would secure victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.

“Now that a candidate has emerged, it is time to close ranks and work together. Our priority must shift to ensuring electoral success for our party and its candidate,” he said.

He acknowledged that party members had supported different aspirants during the process but stressed the importance of subordinating personal interests to the collective goal of winning the election.

Adeojo also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership and praised party leaders, stakeholders, executives, and members in Ido Local Government, as well as the state executive committee, for fostering unity and peace within the party.

Reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP, Adeojo pledged his full support for Adedeji, emphasizing that the success of the party remains his foremost priority.
