IDO LG Chairman leads security show of force to across communities

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, on Tuesday led a coordinated security show of force across major communities within the local government area as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security, reassure residents, and demonstrate the preparedness of security agencies to maintain peace and order.

The exercise involved personnel from Operation Burst, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilante groups, and village hunters. The security convoy traversed several communities, moving through Eruwa Road to Idiya, covering Eleshin Funfun and Onigbede before proceeding to Akufo. The team subsequently moved from Akufo to Camp through Balogun and returned to the Ido Local Government Secretariat.

The operation highlighted the commitment of the local government administration to protecting lives and property, while promoting synergy between conventional security agencies and community-based security outfits in tackling security challenges across the area.

Speaking on the importance of the exercise, Hon. Adeojo reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents, noting that sustained collaboration among security stakeholders remains crucial to maintaining peace and stability within the local government.

Other top local government officials who participated in the exercise included the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu; and the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Victor Adelu.
