NYCN Chairman Oluwatimileyin Alex Seeks Stronger Collaboration with Oyo Youth Development Agency

The newly elected Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Oluwatimileyin Alex, on Thursday paid a courtesy and thank-you visit to the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana.

The visit, which took place at the Agency’s headquarters, was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Interfaith Matters, Rev. Femi Ibikunle, and former NYCN State Chairman, Comrade Bukola Olatunji. The delegation sought to formally express gratitude for the support received during the NYCN elections and to explore areas of partnership for youth-focused development initiatives across the state.

In his address, Comrade Alex emphasized the vital role of government backing in empowering young people, noting that effective collaboration with state institutions is crucial to addressing the challenges facing youths in Oyo State. He also appealed for the organization of official orientation programmes for newly elected NYCN executives, to enhance their leadership capacity and improve the operational effectiveness of the council.

“We believe with the right orientation and support, our excos can lead effectively and implement strategic youth initiatives across all zones of the state,” Alex said.

In response, Hon. Adebowale Falana commended the NYCN leadership for the visit and assured them of the Agency’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with the Council to promote youth development and empowerment. He applauded the peaceful conduct of the NYCN elections and attributed the success to the youth-friendly leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.

“The Governor is passionate about youth development and has always prioritized having competent, visionary individuals in leadership positions. The youth remain a critical pillar in the development agenda of this administration,” Hon. Falana stated.

Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen synergy in driving programmes focused on entrepreneurship, youth engagement, and socio-economic inclusion. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to policies and actions that would uplift the youth population across the Pacesetter State.
