Ido PDP Unites, Prioritizes Voter Registration and Youth Empowerment at General Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government holds a successful general meeting, the meeting held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, bringing together members from all 10 wards to chart a new course for the party. The meeting, which was well-attended by key leaders and stakeholders, focused on party unity, voter registration, and upcoming empowerment initiatives.
The gathering saw a strong presence from the party’s leadership, including the overall leader, Baba Muili Yusuf, and former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Omolabake Olayiwola Adeiya. The meeting was led by the party chairman, Alhaji Ayuba, who is also the Jagunmolu of Ido LG, and his executives, including Vice Chairman Mr. Taofik Lawal, Secretary Mr. Emiola Musbau, and PRO Mr. Agboola Kamorudeen.
Addressing the members, Ido LG Chairman Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo expressed his gratitude to all attendees, from party elders to grassroots members. He underscored the importance of voter registration, highlighting the new, simplified process that can be completed on mobile devices. Hon. Adeojo also announced plans for new empowerment programs, which will include cash gifts for party members and targeted support for 10 youths aged 18-24 in each of the party’s 10 wards.
The party chairman, Alhaji Ayuba, spoke of a new era of peace and unity within the party, promising an end to internal conflicts. He also assured members that party leaders and principal officers in each ward would be well taken care of. Looking ahead, Alhaji Ayuba announced that the party’s general meeting would now be held every two months to ensure continuous communication and strategy alignment. He also noted the upcoming World Congress on September 13, 2025, where appointments for party leaders would be announced.
Baba Muili Yusuf, the overall PDP leader in Ido LG, commended Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo for his strong relationship with party members and encouraged him to continue his efforts. He also reaffirmed the party’s popular slogan, “We dey kanpe,” a local phrase signifying unwavering strength and stability for the party in both Oyo State and Ido Local Government.
Other notable speakers at the event included Hon. Mabaje Adekunle, who called for unity and hard work to elevate the PDP, and Alhaji Asimiyu, who delivered the closing remarks.
The meeting concluded on a high note, with a renewed sense of commitment and solidarity among party members, all of whom left with a clear vision and a unified purpose for the future of the PDP in Ido Local Government.
