An ally of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro, has congratulated renowned broadcaster, Isaac Brown, on his emergence as a recipient of the 2026 City People Awards for Excellence Special Recognition Award, describing the honour as a fitting recognition of a distinguished career defined by integrity, professionalism and excellence.

Famojuro said Brown’s recognition by City People Magazine reflects the immense respect he has earned within Nigeria’s media industry through decades of dedicated service and an unwavering commitment to quality broadcasting.

In a congratulatory message, the Balogun Bobajiro of Orile Igbon praised the veteran journalist for consistently raising the standards of journalism and broadcasting, noting that his professionalism, credibility and consistency have continued to distinguish him in an increasingly competitive media landscape.

“Congratulations, Isaac Brown, on this well-deserved City People Special Recognition Award. This honour is a testament to your years of hard work, resilience, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the media profession,” Famojuro said.

Describing Brown as one of the most accomplished broadcasters of his generation, he said the award was a recognition not only of professional excellence but also of the broadcaster’s enduring influence on journalism in Nigeria.

“You are not a local champion; you are a media icon. Your voice has become a reference point in journalism, and your contributions to broadcasting have earned you respect far beyond your immediate environment,” he added.

Famojuro expressed confidence that the latest recognition would inspire Brown to attain even greater heights while motivating younger broadcasters to embrace excellence, discipline and ethical journalism.

“I celebrate you today because this award is richly deserved. May this recognition open greater doors for you, and may your achievements continue to inspire the next generation of media professionals,” he said.

Speaking further, the businessman and philanthropist said Brown’s latest recognition should serve as a reminder to media practitioners that genuine excellence cannot be limited by geography or diminished by local rivalries, stressing that credible institutions will always identify and celebrate professionals whose accomplishments are built on substance, consistency and integrity.

He maintained that while some individuals may be preoccupied with seeking fleeting attention and self-bestowed acclaim, Brown has quietly continued to earn national recognition through decades of credibility, professionalism and unwavering dedication to the broadcasting profession.

According to Famojuro, Brown’s City People Special Recognition Award further affirms that lasting success in journalism is built on integrity, discipline and sustained excellence rather than noise or self-promotion. He urged younger broadcasters to emulate those enduring values in order to build careers that will stand the test of time.
