Klar-Institut expands German language training, vocational placement opportunities in Nigeria
centre says programme supports legal migration through apprenticeship pathway
The Klar-Institut Nigeria, a German Language and Cultural Centre based in Ibadan, Oyo State, has reaffirmed its commitment to equipping Nigerians with German language proficiency and supporting young people seeking legal migration opportunities to Germany through vocational apprenticeship programmes.
The institute is the only structured, formalised and standard German language institute in Ibadan, offering German language courses across all proficiency levels.
The institute offers German language courses from beginner to advanced levels (A1–C2), structured in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while also promoting cultural exchange between Germany and Nigeria.
According to the institute, its mission is to organise German language courses across all levels of competence and foster intercultural dialogue through cultural events showcasing German and Nigerian traditions.
The institute stated, “The Klar-Institut Nigeria has a self mandate and mission to organise the teaching of German language courses at all levels of competence (A1–C2) aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).”
It added that the centre also organises cultural activities and capacity building programmes for teachers, staff and other stakeholders to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation.
Speaking on its vocational initiative, the institute explained that its Vocational Placement Programme is designed to assist young Nigerians who wish to pursue apprenticeship opportunities in Germany through legal migration channels.
According to the institute, “The programme supports young Nigerians on their legal migration journey to Germany through the apprenticeship pathway. The programme combines high quality German language training with professional guidance for apprenticeship.”
The institute noted that its language curriculum is tailored to the internationally recognised CEFR standards, enabling learners to progressively acquire listening, speaking, reading and writing skills required for academic, professional and everyday communication in German.
Reiterating its vision, the institute said it remains committed to “empowering German language learners with structured and practical German language education from A1 to C2.”
The management expressed assurance that its programmes would continue to provide Nigerians with language skills, cultural exposure and opportunities for international education and vocational development.
