Ido LG boosts NYSC welfare as Adeojo commissions public toilet …new facility to improve sanitation, hygiene at council secretariat

The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has commissioned a newly constructed block of public toilets at the local government secretariat, in a move aimed at improving sanitation and the welfare of staff, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and visitors.

The facility, constructed under Adeojo’s administration, is part of efforts to provide essential infrastructure and create a more conducive working environment for employees and members of the public who visit the secretariat.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by political functionaries, the Head of Local Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen, members of staff, the NYSC Local Government Inspector (LGI) and corps members serving in the council area.
Speaking at the event, the NYSC LGI expressed appreciation to the council chairman for providing the facility, describing the initiative as a welcome development that would particularly benefit corps members serving in the local government.

The LGI made the remarks as Adeojo formally handed over the facility to him.
The new public convenience is expected to provide improved sanitary conditions for NYSC members and other users of the secretariat, while addressing the need for adequate toilet facilities within the council premises.
Adeojo, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, said his government remained focused on providing infrastructure that directly improves the wellbeing of residents, workers and other stakeholders.
The commissioning represents another intervention by the local government administration in the provision of basic amenities within the secretariat.
The facility is expected to be put to immediate use, contributing to improved hygiene and a more comfortable environment for workers, corps members and visitors.
The development also underscores the importance of providing essential public conveniences as part of efforts to maintain a clean and functional local government environment.
