Akeem Salawu appoints Ebisemiju campaign director for 2027 Oyo Central Senate bid Campaign says move signals commencement of formal campaign structure
The campaign organisation of Oyo Central Senatorial aspirant, Akeem Salawu, popularly known as Ilana Mekunu, has appointed Aare Adeola Olamide Ebisemiju as Campaign Director for his 2027 senatorial bid.
The appointment, announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Media and Communications Directorate of the campaign, is part of efforts to strengthen the campaign’s organisational structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the statement, Ebisemiju will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising campaign activities across the local government areas that make up Oyo Central Senatorial District.
The campaign described the appointment as a reflection of its commitment to building “a competent, disciplined and people-driven structure capable of engaging every community across Oyo Central with the vision of responsive representation, inclusive development and accountable leadership.”
It expressed confidence that Ebisemiju’s experience in organisational leadership and grassroots mobilisation would strengthen the campaign and deepen engagement with party members, supporters and other stakeholders.
The statement added that the appointment marks the beginning of the formal constitution of the campaign organisation, noting that additional officials, including directors, coordinators and advisers, would be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“The full campaign team, comprising directors, coordinators, advisers and other key officials, will be unveiled in the coming weeks,” the statement said.
The campaign also reiterated its commitment to conducting what it described as an issue-based, inclusive and forward-looking campaign focused on the aspirations of the people of Oyo Central.
It stated: “The Akeem Salawu (Ilana Mekunu) Campaign remains committed to running an issue-based, inclusive and forward-looking campaign that prioritises the aspirations of the people of Oyo Central.”
