2027: Backed by PDP Leaders, Hon. Idris Afolabi ALOMA Obtains Nomination Form for Oyo Federal Rep, Promises Quality Representation

Peoples Democratic Party aspirant Hon. Idris Afolabi, popularly known as ALOMA, on Monday, May 4, 2026, formally joined the race for the Oyo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives as he obtains the PDP Nomination Form in Ibadan ahead of the 2027 general elections.
ALOMA obtained the nomination form for Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West Federal Constituency after a meeting with PDP stakeholders drawn from the four local government areas that make up the constituency.
Among those present with Hon. Idris Afolabi “ALOMA” in Ibadan were the PDP State Treasurer, Prince Adediran Lukman; Oyo Central PDP Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola; Assistant State Women Leader, Mrs. Sumbo Odebunmi; State Assistant Secretary, Mr. Idris Rafiu; and local government PDP party chairmen Mr. Gbolagade Amzat, Atiba; Mr. Ogunniyi Isiaka Ogunsola, Oyo East; and Mr. Raimi Musa, Oyo West.
Also in attendance were Hon. Dele Ogungbile, Oyo West; Dr. Lanre Mikail, Atiba LG; and Afijio LG Assistant Publicity Secretary, Aderonke Oguntoye, alongside other prominent leaders.

A grassroots mobiliser from Ward 09, Oyo West Local Government Area, ALOMA said his decision to obtain the form followed extensive consultations with party leaders and constituents. He noted that his aspiration was informed by calls for effective, people-centred representation at the National Assembly.
An Oyo indigene, ALOMA hails from the Olufunnu Tella Gbaagi Agunloye Royal Family, Oke Afin, Oyo. He described himself as a true son of the ancient town with strong ties to communities across the constituency.
Addressing party members after obtaining the form, ALOMA commends the Oyo Federal Constituency PDP stakeholders for their consistency, accessibility, and dedication to the party. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP and pledged to prioritise improved livelihoods, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure development, and responsive federal representation if nominated and elected.
He pledges transformative representation for the constituency and assured stakeholders of his commitment to the PDP’s ideals. He pledged to run an issue-based campaign that promotes peace and party unity ahead of the 2027 polls.
At the meeting after obtaining the PDP Nomination Form, Oyo Federal Constituency PDP leaders urged all aspirants to conduct their campaigns with decorum and work toward a united front for the general elections.
ALOMA restated his commitment to deliver transparent, accountable, and impactful representation for Oyo Federal Constituency if elected in 2027.
