Lagos central campaign headquarters: A new political coordination centre takes shape in Lagos Island

A new political coordination and campaign centre designed to serve the five local government areas that make up the Lagos Central Senatorial District is set for commissioning in Lagos Island.

The edifice, known as the PBAT KOH Lagos Central Campaign Headquarters, is being established as a central coordination point for political activities covering Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Apapa and Eti-Osa.

The facility, which is located in Lagos Island, is being described by its promoters as the first of its kind in the area, given its conception as a dedicated campaign headquarters bringing together the political structures and activities of the five local government areas within Lagos Central.

The project, which is now at the completion stage after beginning from the carcass level, is being facilitated and principally financed by Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, while Mr Bolaji Yusuf serves as the Administrator and Coordinator of the centre.

The headquarters is expected to provide an organised environment for meetings, strategy sessions, coordination and other activities connected with the campaign structure across Lagos Central.

Beyond its physical structure, the headquarters is expected to function as a rallying point for the various political actors and campaign structures operating within the district, providing a common platform for coordination across the constituent local government areas.

Speaking on the project, the facilitator, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, said the idea behind the headquarters was to provide a functional and identifiable centre for coordinating activities within Lagos Central.

He said the completion of the facility represented a commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure for effective political organisation and engagement.

The Administrator and Coordinator of the centre, Mr Bolaji Yusuf, said the headquarters was conceived to bring the various components of Lagos Central’s political structure closer together.

According to him, the facility would provide space for meetings, planning and coordination while serving as an accessible point of contact for stakeholders across the five LGAs.

The commissioning is expected to be attended by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who will formally commission the edifice.

The Deputy Governor and governorship candidate, alongside the APC candidates contesting various positions in Lagos Central, are also expected at the event.

The commissioning will provide an opportunity for political stakeholders, party members and invited guests to formally inspect and take ownership of the new facility as a central campaign and coordination hub.

The completion of the headquarters has added a new physical dimension to the political organisation of Lagos Central, with the facility positioned to serve the five-LGA district as activities towards the 2027 general elections intensify.
