Ido LG chairman awards five-year scholarships to five students

The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has awarded five-year scholarships to five indigent students of Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people in the local government.

The scholarship presentation took place at the Ido Local Government Secretariat, where Adeojo was represented by the Secretary of the local government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi.

Also present were the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen; the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr Adelu Victor; and the Deputy Director of Administration and General Services.

The scholarship programme, valued at over ₦11 million per student, will support each beneficiary throughout the five-year duration of their programme at the university.

Speaking on behalf of the chairman, Gbadamosi reiterated the administration’s commitment to investing in education and creating opportunities for young people to achieve their academic and career aspirations.

He described education as a key instrument for sustainable development, stressing the administration’s determination to support deserving students within the local government whenever resources permit.

The beneficiaries, who attended the presentation with members of their families, expressed appreciation to the chairman and the entire Ido Local Government administration for the gesture.

Gbadamosi also encouraged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies, uphold discipline and make the most of the opportunity provided to them.

The beneficiaries and their families described the scholarship as a significant investment in the future of the students.
