Ido Council Chair, Adeojo Empowers 50 Women With N2.5m

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has empowered 50 women across the 10 political wards of the council with a total sum of N2.5 million to support their livelihoods and small-scale businesses.

The empowerment programme, held at the Chairman’s Conference Room, was part of the administration’s efforts to improve the economic well-being of residents and promote inclusive grassroots development.

Speaking at the event, Adeojo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that women, whom he described as critical contributors to the economic and social development of the local government, receive adequate support to improve their livelihoods.

He explained that the financial assistance was designed not only to provide immediate relief to the beneficiaries but also to enable them to strengthen their businesses, support their families and become more economically self-reliant.

The council chairman assured residents that his administration would continue to implement people-oriented programmes and initiatives capable of making a direct and positive impact on the lives of residents.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the 10 wards of Ido Local Government, expressed appreciation to Adeojo for the gesture, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

They commended the council chairman for prioritising women’s welfare and demonstrating what they described as a genuine commitment to grassroots development.

, according to the council, is part of broader efforts by the administration to promote economic inclusion, alleviate hardship and create opportunities for residents across Ido Local Government.

Political functionaries led by the party leader, Alhaji Abule, as well as career officers led by the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen, were among dignitaries present at the empowerment programme.
