Group alleges Oyo PDP organizing secretary Stephen Olaniyi of releasing fake primary results without NWC approval, says “you’re working for Fayose”

A group has alleged that Oyo State PDP Organizing Secretary Stephen Olaniyi released a fake list of successful candidates from the recent primary without the approval of the Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee, describing the publication as false news.

The group, which identified Olaniyi as an indigene of Ekiti State and an alleged agent of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, said the move bypassed due process and sought to impose outsiders on Oyo politics. It specifically cited the announcement of Akinkunmi Akinyemi as the purported candidate for Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, arguing that he is unknown to party members in the area and lacks a base at the local government level.

The group appealed to residents of the constituency to disregard the statement, saying it did not emanate from the PDP’s recognized processes. “You’re working for your brother Ayo Fayose. You cannot come from Ekiti State and disrupt everything or dictate for us in Oyo State. Who does that?” it said.

It added in Yoruba: _“Aaye tigba tapa olonfeko’le igunnu”_ — an outsider should not dictate affairs in Oyo State.

The group called on the PDP National Working Committee to investigate the incident and clarify the authentic outcome of the primary. It urged the state party leadership to uphold the party’s constitution and ensure neutrality in internal contests.
