Adeojo Hails Teachers as Pillars of Nation Building …Says their sacrifices, dedication invaluable to society

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has felicitated teachers in Ido Local Government and across Oyo State on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
Adeojo, in his goodwill message, described teachers as critical pillars of nation-building, saying their contributions to the development of society could not be overemphasised.

He noted that teachers play a vital role in shaping the character, knowledge and future of children, stressing that their impact extends beyond the classroom to the wider development of communities and the nation.
According to him, “Teachers are not only educators; they are mentors, role models and architects of the future. Through their dedication and sacrifices, they shape the minds and character of the next generation.”

The chairman particularly commended teachers in the 10 wards of Ido Local Government for their commitment to duty despite the challenges confronting the profession.
“On this special day, on behalf of the government and good people of Ido Local Government, I celebrate all our teachers in public and private schools across our 10 wards.
“Your selfless service, patience and commitment to nurturing our future leaders despite the challenges you face are deeply appreciated. Your contribution to the development of our local government and Oyo State remains invaluable,” he stated.
Adeojo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting education and improving the welfare of teachers at the grassroots.
He said the commitment was in line with the education transformation agenda of the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde, which, according to him, has continued to place emphasis on the development of the education sector.
“We will continue to support initiatives that improve the learning environment and enhance the welfare of teachers at the grassroots because quality education remains central to sustainable development,” Adeojo said.
He also prayed for God’s protection, wisdom and fulfilment for teachers, while wishing them a memorable World Teachers’ Day celebration.
“May God continue to strengthen, protect and reward our teachers for their service to humanity. I wish all teachers a happy and memorable World Teachers’ Day,” he added.
