Our confidence remains unshaken — Oyo SDP Guber candidate… blames clerical error for absence from INEC list

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, Mogaji Olusegun Agboola, has dismissed concerns over the omission of his name from the list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), attributing the development to a clerical error.
Agboola, who assured party members and supporters that the issue was being addressed, maintained that the omission would not deter him from contesting the 2027 governorship election.

Describing the development as an error with the potential to affect the morale of party members, the SDP candidate insisted that it had not shaken his confidence or determination to remain in the race.
“It is a minor error with a big impact on morale, but not one that will knock our confidence,” he said.

Agboola urged party members and supporters across the state not to panic or allow the development to create confusion within the party, expressing confidence that the necessary corrections would be made.
He stressed that the omission should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from the governorship contest, reaffirming the party’s determination to participate in the 2027 election.
“We are still in the race,” he declared.
The SDP candidate called on his supporters to remain steadfast and maintain confidence in the party while efforts continued to resolve the issue.
His clarification comes amid concerns over the absence of his name from the INEC-published list, a development he said was being addressed as a clerical error rather than a setback to his governorship ambition.
