The 20 prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were abducted while travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to their orientation camp in the South-East have been released.

The confirmation was received by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, from the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, during a telephone conversation on Wednesday at about 5 p.m.

The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the Media Aide to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko.

The prospective corps members were abducted while on their way to the NYSC orientation camp, sparking concerns among their families and members of the public over their safety.

Their release brings an end to days of uncertainty, with the development expected to provide relief to their families, who had called on relevant authorities to intensify efforts to secure their safe return.

Details surrounding their release, including whether any arrests were made or ransom was paid, were not immediately disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
