Ido council Chairman, Sheriff Adeojo inspects 6.5km Wire and Cable Road project

The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has inspected the ongoing 6.5-kilometre Wire and Cable Road project, assuring residents that the council would ensure the delivery of quality and durable infrastructure.

The inspection covered the project route from Wire and Cable through Ita Faaji, Opopin, Olunde Junction, Oganla and All Saints College Road, terminating at Akinju Close.

Adeojo, who assessed the progress of work at various sections of the road, also interacted with stakeholders and inspected the construction to ascertain compliance with the required standards and project schedule.

The chairman said the project was aimed at improving connectivity within the communities, facilitating movement and stimulating economic activities along the corridor.

He commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his commitment to infrastructural development and support for grassroots initiatives, saying the state government had created an enabling environment for local governments to execute projects that directly affect residents.

Adeojo said his administration would continue to complement the governor’s developmental agenda by prioritising projects that address the infrastructure needs of residents.

He said, “The commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde to infrastructural development across Oyo State is commendable. His support for grassroots development has created an enabling environment for local governments to undertake projects that have direct impact on our people.

“As a local government administration, we will continue to complement the governor’s developmental agenda by providing quality projects that meet the needs of our residents.”

The chairman also assured residents that the council would continue to monitor the road project to ensure that it was completed within schedule and according to the required specifications.

Receiving the chairman during the inspection, Baale Apena, Chief Lateef Adegoke, presented a letter of appreciation in recognition of the council’s efforts towards the development of the community and the execution of the road project.

Adegoke expressed appreciation for the project, saying its completion would improve accessibility and contribute to the socio-economic development of communities along the route.

Similarly, Baale Lasokun, Chief Mohammed Tijani Bello, commended the chairman for prioritising the road project.

Bello said the improved road network would ease movement and have a positive impact on residents and businesses in the area.

Mogaji Lasokun, Alhaji Muyideen Dada, also expressed appreciation to Adeojo for his efforts towards improving infrastructure and the welfare of residents.

Dada urged the council to sustain its monitoring of the project to ensure its timely completion and durability.

The inspection was attended by the Local Government Secretary, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; Chief of Staff, Mr Abdulazeez Yahya; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen; Director of Administration and General Services, Mr Adelu Victor; and Chairman, Community Development Council, Engr. Tunde Salaudeen.

The council said the project was part of its efforts to provide infrastructure capable of improving connectivity, supporting economic activities and enhancing the quality of life of residents across Ido Local Government.
