The ballot is stronger than the throne when citizens understand their power — Akeem Salawu

Power in a democracy does not truly belong to those who occupy offices it belongs to the people who choose who gets there. Thrones, titles, and political influence can appear powerful, but they only exist because citizens allow them through the ballot.

When people understand that their vote is not just a right but a tool for shaping their future, the balance of power shifts back to where it belongs: the citizens. A single vote may seem small, but millions of conscious votes can redefine the direction of a nation.

The real strength of democracy is not in the authority of leaders, but in the awareness of the people that the ballot gives them the power to build, correct, or change leadership peacefully.

When citizens understand this power, the ballot will always be stronger than any throne.
