As part of activities marking the golden jubilee of Oyo State, the state government is set to host a vibrant Youth Day and Mega Carnival aimed at celebrating the creativity, culture and boundless energy of young people across the state.

The event, tagged “Oyo @ 50 Youth Day & Mega Carnival,” will hold on Saturday, January 31, at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, with activities kicking off at 11:00 a.m. and running into the night.

Conceived as a grand Gen-Z–driven celebration, the carnival is designed to showcase Oyo State’s 50-year journey through the eyes of its youth, blending rich cultural heritage with bold, contemporary expression.
Attendees will be treated to an electrifying mix of live music and DJ performances, cultural showcases, dance battles, fashion displays, creative arts exhibitions and other youth-led performances that reflect both the state’s storied past and its dynamic future.

Organisers describe the event as more than just entertainment, noting that it is a platform to amplify youth voices, talents and aspirations within the broader Oyo @ 50 celebrations.
With its burst of colour, street energy and nonstop entertainment, the Youth Day and Mega Carnival is expected to attract thousands of young people and culture enthusiasts, further reinforcing Oyo State’s image as a centre of history, innovation and youthful excellence.
