2027: Akeem Salawu’s Campaign Names Bola Sideeq Spokesperson

The campaign organisation of Hon. Akeem Adedamola Salawu, popularly known as Ilana Mekunu, has appointed Amoye Bola Sideeq as its spokesperson ahead of the 2027 senatorial election.

The organisation announced the appointment in a statement made available to journalists, saying it was aimed at strengthening its communication structure and improving engagement with the media, political stakeholders, supporters and the general public.

The statement said Sideeq would serve as “an official voice of the campaign organisation,” with responsibility for providing timely information on campaign activities, policies, programmes and positions relating to Salawu’s senatorial aspiration.

It added that his responsibilities would also include communicating the campaign organisation’s position on issues arising in the course of the senatorial contest.

The organisation urged members of the public, media practitioners, supporters and stakeholders to cooperate with the newly appointed spokesperson as he takes on the new responsibility.

It said the campaign was committed to “a people-oriented, issue-driven, peaceful, and inclusive campaign” focused on effective representation and the interests of the people.

The organisation further said it would continue to engage the electorate and other stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify.
