The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development has extended greetings to Muslim and Christian youths across the state as they mark the 2026 Ramadan and Lenten seasons.

In a goodwill message issued under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, the agency described Ramadan and Lent as sacred periods characterised by faith, sacrifice, discipline, love and compassion. It noted that both observances reflect shared values that strengthen communal bonds and promote social harmony.

The agency called on young people to use the spiritual seasons for reflection, renewal and constructive engagement, while upholding the principles of unity, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.
According to a statement by the Head of the Media Unit to the Chairman, Opeyemi Rasheed Socrates, Falana emphasised that, on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, the role of youths in sustaining harmony and advancing collective development across communities remains crucial.

The agency further expressed hope that the fasting seasons would inspire renewed optimism, deepen mutual understanding and strengthen social ties among adherents of both faiths.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to youth-focused initiatives aimed at fostering unity and inclusive growth, expressing confidence that the lessons of Ramadan and Lent would contribute to sustained peace and development in the state and the country at large.

The message concluded with best wishes to Muslim youths during Ramadan and to Christian youths observing Lent.
