Olufemi Oguntamu is the founder and CEO of Penzaarville, a leading digital media and talent management agency in Nigeria. Over the past decade, he has become one of the most influential figures in the creator economy, managing some of Nigeria’s top talents including Samuel Animashaun Perry (Broda Shaggi), Isaac Olayiwola (Layi Wasabi), Ifedayo Agoro (Diary of a Naija Girl), Tomike Adeoye, Malik Afegbua (AI Artist), Lasisi Elenu (Nosa Afolabi), Dr Abraham Akinbami (African Dentist), and Tayo Aina.
The Beginning
Oguntamu started Penzaarville in 2015, initially as an influencer himself and later as a digital marketing agency. The company connected brands with influencers to promote products, services, and events, working with notable brands such as Google, Wema Bank, Taxify (now Bolt), and Coldstone Creamery.
As the business grew, Oguntamu identified a major gap: while influencers were being contracted for campaigns, many lacked structure, long-term strategy, and diversification into other opportunities. This realization sparked his transition into talent management.
Early Challenges
The first attempts at talent management were far from easy. Oguntamu recalls working informally with a friend, assisting with bookings, content ideas, and brand development. However, the partnership quickly soured due to dishonesty and a lack of loyalty. Similar experiences followed, making him skeptical about managing creatives.
Despite these setbacks, two years later, Penzaarville signed its first structured contract with MC Lively. That milestone marked a turning point, soon followed by onboarding Broda Shaggi, which gave the company new momentum.
Growth and Impact
Today, Penzaarville has grown into a structured agency with account managers, financial systems, and a strong operational backbone. The agency now represents some of the country’s most recognizable digital creators, helping them monetize influence, diversify income, and build sustainable brands.
