Nigeria @ 65: Hon. Sheriff Adeojo Felicitates Nigerians … Calls for Renewed Commitment to Unity, Hope, and Patriotism

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has extended warm congratulations to Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora, with a special message to the good people of Ido Local Government and Oyo State at large.

In a heartfelt Independence Day message, Hon. Adeojo described the 65th anniversary as a moment of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to the ideals that bind the nation together.

“As we celebrate 65 years of our hard-earned freedom and sovereignty, let us remain steadfast in our hope for a better Nigeria, in our unity as a people, and in our patriotism as citizens. This day reminds us of the sacrifices made by our founding fathers and heroes of democracy. It also calls on us to recommit ourselves to building a nation that works for all,” he said.

Hon. Adeojo urged Nigerians to draw strength from the resilience, creativity, and determination that have defined the country’s journey since independence in 1960, noting that while challenges persist, the future remains full of promise.

“May this milestone inspire us to deepen our collective efforts toward a united, peaceful, and prosperous nation where justice, fairness, and equality thrive. We must continue to promote tolerance, national cohesion, and shared responsibility,” he added.

The Ido Council boss also emphasized the need for every citizen, regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation, to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

“Together, we can overcome our challenges and position Nigeria as a beacon of hope and progress for generations to come,” he said.

Hon. Adeojo concluded his message by praying for continued peace, progress, and divine guidance for Nigeria, stating:

“May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Happy Independence Day!”
