NATIONAL COORDINATOR POCACVOV LEADS ADVOCACY VISIT TO COUNCIL OF WOMEN SOCIETIES.

As parts of efforts to make a paradigm shift in the promotion of preventive policing through community participation, the Police campaign that advocates against cultism and other vices(POCACOV), an initiative of the Nigeria Police force, paid an advocacy visit to the National Council of women societies on the 7 of August.

ACP, Olabisi Okwuobi, led the visit, she was accompanied by key stakeholders of POCAVOV, the delegation was received by Princess Edna Azura, who received the National President of NVWS Nigeria, Hon Inumidun Taiwo Idehew, National PRO2.

The visit was led by the National Coordinator of POCACOV, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, accompanied by key members of the POCACOV team. The delegation was warmly received by Princess Edna DD Azura, National President of NCWS Nigeria; for National President.

Some of the discussions during the meeting dwelled on possible areas of crime prevention thereby Creating alternative to prevent crime, social vices, rehabilitation and reintegration.

Discussions during the meeting focused on possible areas of collaboration and synergy between both parties, particularly in the area of crime prevention, creating alternative pathways away from crime, social vices, and the rehabilitation and reintegration of women and youth involved in crime or affected by social vices. The conversation also touched on social reorientation, community education, and amplifying preventive messages across grassroots platforms.

ACP Bisi Okwuobi stated that the aim of POCACOV are hinged on the vision of the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun who is poised to community oriented policing strategies that are aimed on engagement, education and proactive intervention. She added that women are community influencers, peace builders and frontline advocates.

Princess Edna appreciated POCACVOV teem and described the meeting as timely and assured POCACVOV of promoting positive societal values. She further said that they are willing to give POCACVOV the needed Suport.
