Finally Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don Emerges Winner of Ibadan North Federal Constituency Bye-election: A Triumph for PDP

Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency Bye-election has been declared the winner of the Ibadan north bye election.

The victory marks the dominance of PDP in the state, aligning with Governor Seyi Makinds’s doninance in the state and his enduring legacy of good governance, which many believe played a major role in why the people made the people choose Honorable Folajimi Oyekunle DON.

The declaration was made at the Ibadan North Collation Centre, Ikolaba High School, by the INEC Returning Officer, Professor Abiodun Oluwadare Tella of the University of Ibadan.

According to the official results, Hon. Folajimi Don polled a resounding 18,404 votes, defeating his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy who managed only 8,312 votes, a wide margin that sent shockwaves across the political landscape.

With this high margined victory, Hon. Oyekunle Don will now officially replace the late representative of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Musliu Oaide Akinremi Jagaban, whose unfortunate demise necessitated the bye-election.

Political observers and party stalwarts hailed the PDP’s landslide victory as a strong testament to the party’s renewed popularity and the people’s confidence in its leadership.

This win also marks a historic return, as the PDP has successfully reclaimed the federal constituency seat for the first time since 2011.
