Chief Adegboyega, Golden Age Homes Partners Oyo Agency for Youth for Maiden Mix & Mic Battle with Millions, Land Prizes

Chief Taofeek Adegoke Adegboyega, a prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and a 2027 governorship aspirant, has committed several millions of naira to support the maiden edition of the Mix and Mic Battle, a flagship entertainment initiative of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

The Ibadan Chief described the project as a timely intervention for the state’s entertainment industry, noting that many young creatives often leave Oyo in search of opportunities. He commended the Agency’s leadership under Prince Adebowale Adebayo Falana for restoring confidence among youths through consistent engagement and innovative programming.

Chief Adegboyega also lauded the Agency for projecting the good governance strides of Governor Seyi Makinde, adding that the governor has appointed capable, innovative, and youth-friendly leaders across key sectors.

He listed Hon. Salami Ibraheem Dikko, Chairman of the Oyo Pacesetter Transport Service; Hon. Fagbemi of the Hospital Management Board; and Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo as examples of appointees who are redefining public service.

According to him, initiatives like the Mix and Mic Battle deserve not only government backing but also strong private-sector and philanthropic support.

“With the pace at which the Agency has been working since its Chairman came on board, it is clear that we have the right peg in the right hole. The future is bright for the youths of this state,” he said.

Reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, Chief Adegboyega jokingly referred to himself as a youth, saying youthfulness is a mindset. He added that this conviction motivates his ambition to serve in higher leadership roles.

“Those who know me understand that I love to help in any way I can,” he noted, promising to personally reach out to a top Afrobeats star and ensure—if the artiste is available—that they headline the grand finale of the Mix and Mic Battle.

In another show of private-sector support, Mr. Abioye Kehinde Caleb, CEO of Golden Age Homes, announced additional prize incentives for participants by donating plots of land to the winners of both the DJ and Hypeman categories.

Mr. Abioye explained that while the cash prizes were already secured, his personal contribution was aimed at helping young creatives begin building assets early in life through their talents.

“It gladdens my heart to see a programme like this happening in Ibadan. Beyond winning cash, I want these young talents to begin their journey into property ownership,” he said.

Chairman of the Mix and Mic Battle Committee, Mr. Oluwatosin Odita—popularly known as King Zlo—expressed deep appreciation to Chief Adegboyega and Golden Age Homes for their generous support. He assured that the committee, under the mandate of Prince Falana, is committed to delivering a world-class event that resonates with young people and stakeholders across the entertainment industry.

In his goodwill message, Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo commended Chief Adegboyega’s unwavering support for youth development, recalling that during his first anniversary in office, the Ibadan Chief not only donated handsomely but was physically present despite his tight schedule.

He added that if more leaders displayed such genuine commitment, the youths would feel more inspired and confident in governance.

He also thanked the Golden Age Homes CEO for expanding the reward package with land gifts.

The well-attended event had members of the organising committee and associates of Chief Adegboyega in attendance.
