BREAKING: Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri Defects to APC, Moves with Entire Cabinet

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the announcement on Friday during a statewide broadcast, declaring that the decision followed extensive consultations with key political stakeholders across the state.
Fintiri revealed that he did not move alone, stating that members of his cabinet, along with top PDP officials in Adamawa, had also joined him in defecting to the APC.
According to the governor, the decision was taken in the overall developmental interest of Adamawa State. He stressed that aligning with the ruling party at the federal level would strengthen collaboration, attract more federal presence, and accelerate ongoing infrastructure and economic projects across the state.
The defection marks a significant political shift in Adamawa’s landscape and is expected to have ripple effects on party structures and alignments ahead of future elections.
