Adekanmbi Pledges ₦2m to 3SC for CAF Confederation Cup

The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bimbo Adekanmbi, has pledged ₦2 million to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to support the Ibadan-based club’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Adekanmbi announced the financial support following 3SC’s 2-1 victory over Inter Lagos on Friday, bringing his latest intervention for the club to ₦2.7 million.

As part of the gesture, the APM governorship candidate had promised to reward the Oluyole Warriors with ₦200,000 for every goal scored in the encounter.

The two goals scored by 3SC earned the players ₦400,000.

In addition, Adekanmbi committed ₦500,000 to the purchase of 1,000 match tickets for fans to attend the club’s home fixtures.

He said the initiative was aimed at encouraging stronger fan support for the team and creating a lively atmosphere during home matches.

The biggest component of the intervention, however, is the ₦2 million commitment towards the club’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, as 3SC prepares to represent Nigeria on the continental stage.

Adekanmbi expressed optimism that the Oluyole Warriors could build on their recent progress and make a strong impression in the continental competition.

He also commended the management of the club, expressing confidence in its leadership and urging it to sustain the developmental strides recorded so far.

According to him, the achievements of the present administration should be consolidated to enable the historic Ibadan club to attain greater heights both in domestic football and on the continent.

Adekanmbi said the intervention was also intended to motivate the players and management while encouraging supporters to remain committed to the club.

He urged the team to maintain its winning mentality and use the CAF Confederation Cup opportunity to further project the name of Shooting Stars and Oyo State on the continental stage.

The latest financial commitment adds to Adekanmbi’s support for the Oluyole Warriors, with the APM candidate stressing the need for stakeholders to contribute to the growth and development of the club.
