Falana commends two term Lawmaker’s support for Youth, 500 Free Tickets for Fola Concert

The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development (AYD) has felicitated with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Adedeji Dhikirullah Olajide Stanley, popularly known as Odidiomo, on the occasion of his birthday.

The agency, in a goodwill message issued by its Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, described the occasion as an opportunity to acknowledge the celebrant’s contributions to public service, constituency development and youth empowerment.

Odidiomo, a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, was also commended for initiatives aimed at providing young people with opportunities in skills acquisition, capacity building and community development.

Falana said the former federal lawmaker had demonstrated commitment to initiatives that could help young people acquire practical skills and improve their capacity to contribute meaningfully to society.

He said, “Youth development goes beyond political participation. It is about equipping young people with the practical skills, knowledge, confidence and opportunities they need to become productive members of society.”

The AYD chairman also stressed the importance of collaboration among government institutions, elected representatives, private organisations and other stakeholders in expanding opportunities for young people.

According to him, sustained investment in education, digital literacy, vocational training, entrepreneurship, innovation and the creative industry is necessary to harness the potential of the youth population.

Falana particularly commended Odidiomo for his support for the forthcoming Fola Homecoming Concert in Ibadan, noting that the former lawmaker had purchased 500 tickets for free distribution to young people across the Oyo South Senatorial District.

He described the gesture as a contribution to youth participation in entertainment and the creative sector.

Falana said, “The purchase of 500 tickets for young people to attend the Fola Homecoming Concert is a meaningful gesture. It creates an opportunity for young people to participate, network, express themselves and engage with the creative industry.”

He added that the creative and entertainment sectors provided platforms through which young people could showcase their talents while exploring economic opportunities.

The AYD chairman urged other individuals, organisations and stakeholders to support initiatives that promote learning, entrepreneurship, creativity and meaningful engagement among young people.

He said, “The development of our young people is a collective responsibility. Government cannot do it alone. We need elected representatives, private organisations, development partners and other stakeholders to continue investing in programmes that give young people opportunities to learn, create and build sustainable livelihoods.”

The agency noted that Oyo State has a large youth population whose talents and potential could contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the state if adequately supported.

It therefore called for sustained collaboration among stakeholders in strengthening youth-focused programmes across the state.

While congratulating Odidiomo on his birthday, Falana prayed for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the celebrant, wishing him many more years of service and positive contributions to the development of Oyo State.

The agency also wished Odidiomo a fulfilling new year, expressing hope that his continued activities would create more opportunities for young people across the state.
