Oyo central PDP Executives meet Olunloyo, hears agenda on education, security, jobs

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives from the 11 local government areas in Oyo Central Senatorial District on Wednesday met with the party’s senatorial aspirant, Engr. Ayobami Akinyode Olunloyo, in Ibadan, where he unveiled his legislative agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held at Olunloyo’s residence in Ikolaba, Agodi, Ibadan, served as a familiarisation and strategy session with party leaders across the senatorial district.

Olunloyo, son of former Oyo State Governor, the late Chief Victor Omololu Olunloyo, said his agenda, if elected, would focus on quality representation through effective lawmaking, legislative oversight and attracting federal projects to Oyo Central.
According to him, priority areas include increased funding for public education, improved teacher training, expanded access to student loans, support for community policing and greater access to funding for small and medium-scale enterprises through institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry.

“Effective representation is about laws and oversight that deliver tangible results to our people,” he said.
The Oyo Central PDP Chairman, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola, commended the early engagement with party stakeholders, describing it as a demonstration of preparedness.
“We appreciate your foresight. This shows you are ready to serve Oyo Central,” Adegbola said.
Also speaking, the party’s State Treasurer, Prince Adediran, and State Youth Leader, Comrade Adeleke, described the agenda as people-oriented and consistent with the PDP’s manifesto.
“The youth of Oyo Central are ready to key into this vision of education, security and employment,” Adeleke said.
Executives from the 11 local government areas later briefed the gathering on political developments and party activities in their respective councils, while offering prayers for unity within the PDP and success in the 2027 elections.
Speaking on behalf of the local government chairmen, the PDP Chairman in Surulere Local Government, Hon. Oketola Olanrewaju Adeyi, pledged the support of the party structure across the district.
“Your agenda is timely. The executives across Oyo Central are ready to work for victory in 2027. We pray for God’s wisdom, protection and success as the campaign season approaches,” he said.
The meeting ended with a resolution to strengthen party unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
