Adeojo Empowers Pupils with Free School Bags in Ido

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has flagged off the distribution of Phase 1 of the Omituntun 2.0 free school bags to pupils in selected public primary schools across the council area.
The flag-off ceremony, held at the Local Government Hall, underscored the administration’s commitment to improving access to education and supporting community welfare.
Speaking at the event, Adeojo said the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while encouraging pupils to return to school with renewed enthusiasm. He reiterated that education remains a central focus of his administration.
“Investing in education remains a top priority of my administration for our community development,” he said, assuring residents of continued interventions to support pupils in the local government.

Beneficiaries of the first phase of the distribution were drawn from eight public primary schools, including St. James Primary School, Alaho; Baptist Primary School, Ateere; Community Primary School, Alakaso; IDC Primary School, Olokogboro; Community Primary School, Onifufu; IDC Primary School, Seeni; and Community Primary School, Abule Ayo.
In her remarks, Mrs. Busola Adedeji, Head of School Services Section in Ido Local Government, who represented the Education Secretary, Alhaji Mumeen Bukola, commended the chairman for the initiative. She noted that despite several ongoing developmental programmes, the administration continues to prioritize the welfare of pupils.
The school bags, she added, would not only support learning but also serve as motivation for improved academic performance. She called on stakeholders and residents of the local government to support efforts aimed at strengthening the education sector.
Also speaking, Miss Farida Biliaminu, a pupil of IDC Primary School, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, while a head teacher, Mr. Ojekunle, lauded the chairman’s gesture and prayed for continued success in his leadership.
The event was attended by top government officials, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; Supervisory Councillor for Environment, Hon. Nureni Wahab Keke; Supervisory Councillor for Youths and Sports, Hon. Fakayode Kazeem Oladimeji; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu; Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Victor Adelu; and representatives from the education department, among others.
