Former LCDA secretaries back Makinde amidst impeachment rumour

The Forum of Assistant Secretaries to the Local Government, Oyo state that served between 2021 and 2024 has expressed its unalloyed support for the state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, amidst the rumoured move to impeach him.
The people, who served as assistant secretaries in the Local Council Development Authorities across the state, said they are solidly behind the governor following his startling performance since he assumed office on 2019.
According to a statement by the forum, the rumoured planned impeachment is baseless and uncalled for, saying such move should be condemned by progressive minded people in the society.
The forum noted that Gov Makinde has continued to deliver dividends of democracy across key sectors like infrastructure, education, and healthcare, this, it said, had endeared him to the people of the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

The immediate past secretaries of the LCDA however warned against any attempt to distabilise the peace and tranquility being enjoyed by the people.
The group added that instead of planning to disrupt the progress of the state, well meaning Indigenes and residents should join hands with government to further develop the state.
It however said the governor should not be distracted from uplifting the state in his last 14 months in office as he has promised to provide leadership and development for the state till his last day in office.
