2027: PDP Will Retain Oyo, Says Olawore, Seeks Support in Ibadan North

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Ambassador Abdulsabur Abiola Olawore, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the state in the 2027 general elections.

Olawore made this known on Wednesday while addressing party faithful during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ibadan North Local Government Area, where he reaffirmed his commitment to building on the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The aspirant pledged to sustain and advance the current administration’s political and developmental strides, stressing the need for continuity in governance under the PDP.

“The 2027 gubernatorial election is for Governor Makinde to win hands down and install a worthy successor,” Olawore said, adding that the party remains well-positioned for victory.

He also used the forum to solicit the support of party leaders, members, and residents of Ibadan North as he intensifies consultations ahead of the party’s primary election.

As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization and party unity, Olawore donated cash to party leaders, ward executives, and members present at the meeting.

Party stakeholders who attended the gathering commended the aspirant’s outreach, highlighting the need for unity, strategic planning, and early engagement as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 electoral cycle in Oyo State.
