Ibadan Golf Club Elects New Executive to Steer Affairs

Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) has elected a new executive committee to oversee the affairs of the club for the next one year.

The newly constituted executive is led by Rev. Fr. Akee as Captain.

Other members of the team include Mr. Busayo Aluko (Second Vice Captain), Mr. Kayode Adelekun as Honorary Secretary, Oladapo Mohammed as Competition Secretary, Lekan Ogunbameru as Handicap Officer, Adesina Bello as Course Officer, and Abimbola Oyeboade as House and Bar Secretary.

 

Speaking after his swearing-in, the new Captain, Rev. Fr. Akee, pledged to build on the existing standards of the club, with a focus on improving the course and strengthening membership drive.

 

He urged members to put aside differences arising from the election and work collectively for the progress of the club.

 

“Election has come and gone; we should all work together to move the club forward,” he said.

 

“We are committed to improving the quality of our course and expanding our membership base to make Ibadan Golf Club more inclusive and competitive. I urge all members to put the election behind us and unite for the progress of the club.”

 

“Together, we can build on the strong foundation already in place and take this club to greater heights through teamwork, discipline, and shared vision.”

 

In his remarks, the immediate past Captain, Mr. Seyi Alaba, congratulated the new executive and encouraged them to consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing administration.

 

He emphasised the need for continuity and innovation to further enhance the club’s growth and reputation.

Alaba said: “I congratulate the new executive and urge them to sustain and improve on the achievements of the past administration while bringing fresh ideas to move the club forward.”

 

“The Ibadan Golf Club has a proud tradition, and I am confident the new leadership will make it more vibrant, progressive, and attractive to members and visitors alike.”
