Ido CDC Convenes Landmark Seminar to Drive Grassroots Development

The Ido Community Development Council (CDC) has successfully hosted a landmark one-day seminar for community leaders, marking a significant step toward strengthening grassroots development initiatives within the local government area.

The event, sponsored by the Executive Chairman, Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, witnessed impressive participation and featured expert-led sessions focusing on key areas such as community partnerships, resource mobilization, and security.

Delivering the keynote sessions were notable resource persons, including Mr. Arioiri Lateef, State Director of the Oyo State Community Development Council, who spoke on “Strengthening Community Development Partnerships for Sustainable Grassroots Development.” Also, Alhaji Jelil Salau, General Manager of the council, presented a lecture on “Mobilizing Local Resources for Community Development Projects,” while ASP Olatunji Oladimeji of the Ido Police Station addressed participants on issues of community security.

In his remarks, the Ido CDC Chairman, Engr. Lawal Tunde Salaudeen, expressed gratitude to the guest speakers, community leaders, and the council chairman for their consistent support. He emphasized the importance of the seminar in equipping community stakeholders with the tools needed to tackle grassroots challenges.

“This seminar equips our people to build peaceful, project-focused communities and address grassroots challenges like resource mobilization and stronger ties between communities and government,” he said. “Development is collective; government cannot succeed alone without active participation. Communities need stakeholder partnerships to thrive, alongside commitment to peace and backing for security agencies.”

In his address, Hon. Adeojo commended the large turnout and the continued support from beneficiaries of his administration’s initiatives. He reassured attendees of his commitment to delivering impactful projects at the grassroots level.

“I won’t relent in bringing relief to our grassroots through impactful projects,” he stated, while also calling for sustained cooperation and support from the people.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Majority Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Jamiu Tijani; Chief of Staff, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yahaya; Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Ganiyat Durodola, who was represented by Mrs. Omolola Adepoju; and Acting Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Sakirat Oladele, among others.
