Trailer Brake Failure Claims Lives, Injures Several in Ibadan

Tragedy struck in Ibadan on Tuesday as a trailer reportedly suffered brake failure while descending from Beere Roundabout, leaving at least three people dead and several others injured.

According to eyewitness accounts, the truck had earlier navigated through Oja’Oba Market before losing control as it approached Beere Junction. The driver was said to have struggled to regain control, but the vehicle continued at speed, ploughing into cars, motorcycles, and unsuspecting pedestrians along the busy route.

The most devastating impact was recorded around Iso-Osan (Orange Market), a densely populated commercial area, where the trailer caused extensive destruction. Several roadside traders and commuters were caught in the chaos as the vehicle tore through the area, leaving behind mangled vehicles and scattered goods.
