Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo Hosts Omituntun Ramadan Lecture in Honour of Late Yekini Ayoade Adeojo

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has hosted the second edition of the Omituntun Ramadan Lecture at the council secretariat, paying tribute to his late father, Yekini Ayoade Adeojo. The event underscored his dedication to promoting Islamic teachings, unity, and lasting community values during the holy month of Ramadan.

The lecture, themed “Polytheism in Islam,” was delivered by Abdulafees Hamzat, who represented Tajudeen AbdulKareem Al-Adaby. In his message, he urged Muslims to remain devoted to Allah alone, avoid practices that contradict Islamic teachings, and steer clear of rituals associated with traditional worship, emphasizing faith without intermediaries.

The programme drew a wide range of participants, including Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, and residents from across Ido Local Government.

Chairman of the occasion, Bayo Oyero, commended the council chairman for upholding his father’s legacy and encouraged the family to sustain their service to Islam and society. Similarly, the Oniro of Ido, Muritala Babalola, lauded the initiative and expressed confidence that the lecture would continue in the years ahead.

Activities at the event included Quranic recitations, goodwill messages, and a donation to the Ido Local Government Mosque. In his remarks, Hon. Adeojo appreciated attendees and reiterated his commitment to programmes that foster both spiritual growth and community development.
