Top Political Leaders Storm 2026 Obafemi Awolowo Lecture

Dignitaries have started arriving for the 2026 Obafemi Awolowo Lecture, one of Nigeria’s most prominent intellectual and political gatherings.

Among those already at the venue are Senator Wale Adetutu; Otunba Gbenga Daniel; renowned broadcaster and diplomat, Dr. Yemi Farounbi; and former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The annual lecture, organised in honour of the late nationalist and statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, traditionally draws leading political figures, academics, diplomats and other key stakeholders from across the country and beyond.

More dignitaries are expected as the programme begins, with deliberations expected to centre on national development, leadership and the enduring legacy of Awolowo’s ideals.
