The second day of the ongoing awareness rally moved to Egbeda and Lagelu Local Government Areas of Oyo State, drawing enthusiastic participation from residents and deepening community engagement.

From busy roadside clusters to market squares and transport hubs, the rally team interacted with traders, commuters, youths and community leaders, explaining the vision of the rally is to amplify community voices, promote civic awareness and provide a platform for everyday people to speak on issues affecting their lives.

Unlike a conventional publicity drive, the outreach focused not only on distributing flyers and creating visibility, but also on listening to residents’ concerns and expectations.

Participants openly discussed the rising cost of living, unemployment, insecurity, poor road infrastructure and what many described as a growing disconnect between the people and decision-makers.

Young people expressed anxiety over limited economic opportunities, while parents highlighted the daily struggle to sustain their families amid economic pressures. Elders, on their part, stressed the need for dignity, fairness and responsive governance.

The conversations, according to members of the rally team, underscored the relevance of the radio initiative as more than just another programme on airwaves, but as a bridge between lived community realities and broader public discourse.

Organisers noted that the engagement in Egbeda and Lagelu further affirmed the public’s willingness to participate in meaningful dialogue when given accessible and inclusive platforms.
