Ido LG Mourns Ex-Lawmaker, Isiaka Adeola

The Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State has announced the death of a former Chairman of the council and erstwhile member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Isiaka Adeola.

In a statement issued on Sunday under the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, the council expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the respected public servant, describing him as a pillar of the community and a committed grassroots leader.

The statement disclosed that Hon. Adeola, who served the local government both as council chairman and as a state lawmaker representing the area, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, January 25, 2026.

According to the council, the late Adeola was renowned for his dedication to grassroots development, selfless service and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Ido Local Government and Oyo State at large. His death, it noted, has left a profound sense of loss among political associates, community leaders and beneficiaries of his leadership.

“Hon. Isiaka Adeola was a visionary leader whose compassion and commitment to public service left enduring marks on our communities. His contributions to governance will be cherished for generations,” the statement said.

The local government further revealed that the deceased was buried in accordance with Islamic rites, with Janazah prayers and interment conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his residence in Hope Centre, Omi-Adio, Ibadan.

The council extended its condolences to the family, friends and political associates of the late lawmaker, praying for the repose of his soul and for divine strength for those he left behind.
