Adeojo Hosts Grand New Year Grassroots Fiesta, Preaches Unity in Ido LG

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, hosted a colourful New Year celebration for residents at the local government secretariat, drawing a large turnout from across the grassroots.

The event brought together community leaders, Community Development Council (CDC) executives, political stakeholders, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members, youths, women groups, and friends from within Ido Local Government and other parts of Oyo State.

Hon. Adeojo said the celebration was organised to foster unity, promote love among residents, and express appreciation for the overwhelming support the people have continued to show his administration in the course of ongoing grassroots development efforts.
The atmosphere was festive as attendees were treated to assorted food and drinks, lively music, and entertainment. In a show of goodwill, the council boss also distributed bags of rice, vegetable oil, and cash gifts to youths, widows, and elderly persons in attendance.

Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency matters, Hon. Akano Mathew, commended Hon. Adeojo for what he described as people-oriented leadership. He noted that the council chairman was replicating the grassroots-focused governance style of Governor Seyi Makinde at the local level.
“We are here to identify with him because he is a true grassroots politician and a worthy ambassador of our great party,” Akano said.

Prominent personalities at the celebration included Mallam Muili Yussuf, overall PDP Leader in Ido Local Government; Alhaji Ayuba Akinsola, Auditor of the Oyo State PDP; Alhaji Lukman Adeshina, Oyo State PDP Ex-Officio; Chief Musiba Emiola (popularly known as Emma), PDP Chairman in Ido Local Government; other political functionaries, Community Development Council representatives, members of the Sheriff Ladies group, among many others.
