Ido LG Boosts Security Architecture, Adeojo Convenes Stakeholders, Pledges Phase II Solar Streetlights

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has intensified efforts to strengthen security across the council area with the convening of an enlarged security meeting involving traditional rulers, security agencies and key stakeholders.

The meeting, held at the Ido Local Government Hall, was part of Hon. Adeojo’s commitment to complement the security initiatives of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, aimed at safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Addressing participants, the council chairman commended both conventional and non-conventional security operatives in Ido Local Government for their prompt response and dedication to maintaining peace and tranquility. He urged residents and security agencies to further beef up vigilance to forestall banditry and other criminal activities.
Hon. Adeojo stressed the need for collaborative security efforts, announcing plans for the completion of Phase II of the solar streetlight project along the Ile Tuntun–Eruwa Road. He also disclosed the proposed recruitment of 50 local hunters and the establishment of additional Operation Burst checkpoints, including one along the Alako–Idi Iya Road, among other security-enhancing measures.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin (Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland), represented by His Royal Highness Oba Muritala Babalola, the Onido of Ido, lauded Hon. Adeojo’s administration, describing it as the most peaceful in the history of the local government. He pledged the continued support of traditional institutions and urged security operatives to sustain and intensify their efforts.
Other dignitaries at the meeting included the Vice Chairman and Political Head of Omi Apata LCDA, Barrister Olayemi Oluwashina; HRH Oba Dauda Omotosho, the Alawotan of Awotan; HRH Oba Dauda Salami, the Onisiba of Siba; Pastor Egbedokun Thomas, CAN Chairman, Ido LG; Imam Waliulahi Sanusi, Chief Imam of Ido LG; Alhaji Bashir Adesiyan; the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Sarafadeen Aminu; and Mrs. Titi Adeshina, Director of Administration and General Services.

Security agencies represented included the Nigeria Police, NSCDC, Immigration, FRSC, DSS, Amotekun Corps, Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), OPC and other relevant formations.
