The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has been honoured with a prestigious Award of Excellence by the Irewolede Community during its colourful end-of-year celebration, in recognition of his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and transformative leadership.

The ceremony, which attracted a large turnout of residents and community stakeholders, also witnessed the commissioning of the newly constructed Irewolede Entrance Bridge by the council chairman. The project, executed through a collaborative effort between the community and the local government, was supported with a ₦500,000 financial contribution from Hon. Adeojo. The bridge is expected to significantly improve access, safety and connectivity within the community, while also serving as a symbol of unity and progress.

Receiving the award on behalf of the chairman, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yahaya, dedicated the honour to all sons and daughters of Ido Local Government. He described the bridge as a testament to what collective effort can achieve, assuring residents that the present administration, under the leadership of Hon. Adeojo, remains fully committed to uplifting the lives of the people.
“This bridge is a clear demonstration of what we can accomplish when leadership and community work hand in hand. Irewolede’s future is bright, and this administration will continue to prioritise projects that bring lasting benefits to our people,” Yahaya stated.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Irewolede Community (Aba Asa Ile Tuntun, Ward 7), Mr. Oyebola Alao, commended Hon. Adeojo for his consistent support and people-centred governance. He noted that the bridge would stand as a lasting legacy for generations to come.
The end-of-year celebration featured food, music and social activities, as hundreds of residents came together in a strong display of unity and solidarity. The event was also graced by the Leader of the Legislative Arm of the local government, Hon. Adedeji Adebowale, alongside other political functionaries.
