Apero Mekunu Unveils Official Website to Deepen Civic Engagement in Oyo State

Apero Mekunu, a grassroots civic advocacy movement in Oyo State, has launched its official website, AperoMekunuOyo.org, designed to serve as a digital hub for public engagement, information sharing, and community mobilisation.

According to the group, the new platform aims to strengthen citizens’ participation in governance by providing easy access to resources that promote accountability, transparency, and political awareness.

The website, which features a user-friendly interface, offers visitors detailed information about the organisation’s activities, including community outreach programmes, volunteer initiatives, media engagements, and opportunities for civic involvement.

A key highlight of the platform is the “Know Your Rep” feature — a tool that enables users to identify their elected representatives, understand their roles, and track their performance. The group said the initiative aligns with its mission of empowering ordinary citizens with the knowledge needed to demand effective representation.

A statement from Apero Mekunu noted that the website’s launch marks another step in its effort to build an informed and united citizenry committed to advancing social and political development in Oyo State.

“Our goal is to ensure that the voice of the Mekunu (ordinary people) is not only heard but amplified,” the statement added.
