‘MENtality With Ebuka’ Podcast Set To Redefine Conversations About Masculinity in Nigeria

Lagos, Nigeria — October 2025. MENtality with Ebuka is a bold new issues-based podcast

Redefining how men talk about masculinity in Nigeria. Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and joined by Banky Wellington (Banky W) for its pilot season.

The series brings together personal storytelling, cultural critique, and research-driven insight to unpack the pressures, contradictions, and lived realities of modern manhood.
Set in a relaxed, beer-parlour-style atmosphere, each episode offers a rare safe space for men to speak openly about what it truly means to be a Nigerian man in a changing world.

Each week, Ebuka and Banky W dive into the contradictions, pressures, and realities of being a man today—unpacking how gender roles, religion, love, and culture shape the lives of Nigerian men.
The result? A fresh, unfiltered, and deeply human conversation about masculinity.
Launching October 28, 2025, podcast episodes will release weekly in both visual and audio formats on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major platforms.
“Too often, men feel pressured to fit into outdated moulds of masculinity,” said Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
“We are creating a space where men can speak honestly about who they are—their struggles, fears, and growth—without shame.” Banky Wellington added,
“These conversations are not just for men. They are for women, families, and communities who are all impacted by evolving gender norms. Our hope is that Mentality with Ebuka becomes a tool for understanding, empathy, and change.”
A She Tank Studios production—a creative division of The She Tank, a global culture lab shaping women’s power and gender futures—MENtality with Ebuka is executive-produced by
Blessing Omakwu and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, produced by JM Films, and created in partnership with Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
“At The She Tank, we believe gender equality is impossible if we ignore masculinity,” said Blessing Omakwu, Founder & CEO of The She Tank.
“Issues like incel culture and gender-based violence are all shaped by how men are taught to see themselves.”
The pilot season features an exciting lineup of guests including Seun Kuti, Noble Igwe, Johnny Drille, Timi Dakolo, Hermes Iyele, and Murewa and MichaelSonariwo of the Menisms podcast, among others.
Through MENtality with Ebuka, Ebuka and Banky W are championing a new way of talking about men – one grounded in honesty, humanity, and humour.
