Dominion University Celebrates Third Convocation. …130 Graduates Honoured as Institution Reaffirms Commitment to Raising God-Fearing Leaders

Dominion University, Ibadan, prepares for its third convocation ceremony, marking another milestone in its mission to produce academically excellent and morally upright graduates.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Chancellor of Dominion University, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, reaffirmed the university’s vision of nurturing God-fearing, righteous, and responsible citizens who will contribute positively to national growth and global advancement.

“Dominion University serves as a platform for nurturing youths who are not only intellectually sound but spiritually grounded,” Bishop Adelakun said. “Since its establishment in February 2019, the university has remained steadfast in its commitment to shaping future leaders through quality education and godly values.”

Highlighting the institution’s academic achievements, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Olorunnisola, disclosed that a total of 130 students will be graduating for the 2024/2025 academic session. The breakdown includes 24 First-Class, 53 Second-Class Upper, 47 Second-Class Lower, and 6 Third-Class degree holders.

Professor Olorunnisola noted that Dominion University has continued to expand its academic offerings and deepen its research capabilities, with several ongoing projects aimed at driving innovation and national development.

“We are proud of our students’ accomplishments and the steady progress the university has made in research, teaching, and community engagement. Our focus remains on producing graduates who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to society,” he stated.

The convocation week, according to the Vice Chancellor, is lined up with several exciting activities. The series will commence with a press conference and convocation dinner on Wednesday, followed by a novelty football match and convocation lecture on Friday. The award of first-degree certificates and academic prizes will take place on Saturday at the University Chapel.

The week-long celebration will climax with a thanksgiving service on Sunday at Wonder City, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, where the university community and guests will gather to express gratitude for another successful academic year.

As Dominion University celebrates this significant milestone, it continues to stand tall as one of Nigeria’s promising faith-based institutions, dedicated to merging spiritual growth with academic excellence for the transformation of individuals and the nation at large.
