
The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially announced the kick off of the 2025 continuous voter registration (CVR). The exercise is to begin voters for the preparation of the upcoming general elections to hold in 2025. The CVR process will kick off with online pre-registration on August 18, 2025, accessible through the official portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org. This online phase allows individuals to start the registration remotely before completing it in person. Physical registration will begin a week later on August 25, 2025, at all INEC Local Government Area offices and designated registration centers nationwide.
Eligible Nigerians are to participate so as not to be disenfranchised, the process is to allow eligible Nigerians exercise their rights as well as civic responsibility. Therefore Eligible Nigerians are urged to participate, including those who have recently come of voting age or missed previous registration opportunities. The CVR process allows for new registrations, as well as services like voter card replacements and corrections.
